Scanning a suspended concrete slab for suitable drilling locations.
Task: Anchor bolts needed to be drilled into the ceiling for the installation of structural aluminum columns at a commercial building.
Challenge: The suspended slab to be drilled supports the roof-top parking and has a layer of waterproof membrane. Blind drilling may damage the membrane and compromise weatherproofing and structural integrity.Anchor bolts needed to be drilled into the ceiling for the installation of structural aluminum columns at a commercial building.
Solution: A GPR survey established the depth of the waterproof membrane in the ceiling. The anchor bolts were drilled into the ceiling without any damage to the waterproof membrane.
GPR was able to locate this sensor in a football field so as to eliminate unnecessary digging.
Task: The pipes and sensors of an irrigation system in two football fields needed to be located for upgrades.
Challenge: As original plans were unavailable, the location of the sensors and pipes would require digging up two entire football fields. The alternative to digging up both fields was to install a completely new system over the existing system.
Solution: A GPR survey located all sensors and pipes, and allowed the client to upgrade the existing system with minimal digging.
